Author Biography:
Fulton J. Sheen (1895-1979) was an American archbishop, theologian, and media personality renowned for his contributions to Catholic theology and evangelization. Born in Illinois, Sheen studied theology in Belgium and was ordained a priest in 1919. He quickly rose through the ranks of the Catholic Church, becoming a bishop in 1951 and later an archbishop. Sheen gained widespread fame through his radio and television programs, including the Emmy-winning "Life Is Worth Living," which aired in the 1950s. His eloquence and engaging style made him a beloved figure, reaching millions of viewers with his teachings on faith and spirituality. Sheen's efforts in evangelization were recognized by Pope Paul VI, who appointed him as a consultant to the Pontifical Council for Social Communications. He remains a revered figure in Catholicism, remembered for his impactful media presence and theological insights.
